News and Notes

RMAL ends a record-breaking summer with an exceptional record-breaking Champs.

Stonehenge's Emerson Callis rounds out her summer with a record in the 11-12 50 yard breast of 32.40 breaking a record set by Grace Sheble of 32.44. This was Emerson's third yard record for the summer and seventh overall.

Willow Oak's Molly Blanchard set six records at RMAL's 2021 Champs in the 15-18 girls group in her individual and lead-off relay events. Her 50 yard free time of 23.80 beat a record previously held by Cooper Ackerly of 23.95. Molly's 50 back time of 26.27 beat a time set by Kate Nezelek of 26.76. Her 50 breast time of 30.03 beat a time of 30.81 held by Nicole Jackman. Molly's 25.67 fly time eclipsed a record previously held by Kayla Hobson of 25.89. Finally, her 100 IM time of 57.01 beat a time of 58.52 set just this year by Molly. Molly now holds five best times in the 15-18 girls yard events and three in meters.

ACAC's Aidin Muminovic wrapped up his season setting three new RMAL records in the boys 11-12 year-old group. Aidin broke his own 50 free record with a 24.13. He also broke his own 50 fly record of 27.05 with a new time of 26.25 and his own 100 IM record previously 1:00.84 coming in under a minute with 59.81. Aiden now holds three RMAL yard 11-12 records and three in meters.

Granite's Patrick Puzon set a new record in the boy's 13-14 year-old 50 free at Champs 2021. His time of 22.29 beat the record held by Kolin Hoffman also of Granite of 22.97. Patrick now holds five total 13-14 year-old boys records, three meter and two yard.

Finally, two records were set yesterday in RMAL relay events. Relays are especially difficult records to break because teams need to come together with just the right mix of swimming talent. Granite seems to have this down to a science breaking both 15-18 year-old relay records at RMAL 2021 Champs and beating their own previous records. The team of Z. Hoffman, McCann, Branch, and Burton set a new 200 yard medley relay time of 1:40.18 beating the previous Granite team of Z. Hoffman, Kassab, Aldridge, and Ackerly of 1:42.95. Granite's 200 free team of Z. Hoffman, Branch, Burton, and Wise set a record time of 1:33.00 beating a previous Granite record of 1:33.30 held by Aldridge, L. Hoffman, Z. Hoffman, and Ackerly.

Great job swimmers!
